影片摘要 On August 8, 2009, Morakot Typhoon made landfall on Taiwan, bringing unprecedented rainfall of more than 2,000 mm in just three days, which caused several hundred deaths and left more than 10,000 people homeless。Apart from the losses of lives and possessions, the mountain forests in Taiwan also sustained great damage in the worst flooding of the past 50 years. Over 30,000 hectares of forest lands in southern and central Taiwan were affected by landslides, and vast amounts of rock, soil, and trees were washed to the lowlands by the floodwaters, burying farmlands, blocking ditches and harbors, and destroying the natural landscape, causing great challenges for the post-disaster recovery.
